Police: Andover man staged girlfriend's motorcycle death
Last update: September 22, 2008 - 5:58 PM
ANOKA, Minn. — Authorities allege that an Andover man tried to make his girlfriend's death look like a motorcycle accident.
Thirty-three-year-old Ryan Patrick Boland is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Natasha Waalen. She was found dead early Friday. Her body was several feet away from her motorcycle.
Police quickly suspected her injuries were not consistent with a motorcycle accident.
Investigators believe Boland killed Waalen during an argument in their garage Thursday night, then tried to stage the motorcycle accident a couple of hours later.
Waalen's mother says she believes her daughter's death was the final result of a long-term abusive relationship.
